Staré Mesto is the only part of Bratislava where the typical flat cannot be described by a single number. Townhouses from the turn of the century, functionalist buildings from the 1930s and post-war blocks stand side by side — and cleaning each of them looks different.
What makes Old Town flats different
The clearest difference is the ceilings. In the original townhouses they are three to four metres high, which changes two things at once: the windows are tall and washing them needs a telescopic pole rather than an ordinary squeegee, and cobwebs in the corners are out of reach of a routine clean. We do both as standard — they simply need to be allowed for in the time.
The second difference is original parquet and wooden windows. Parquet tolerates moisture worse than modern flooring, so we clean it with less water. Old wooden windows are washed more carefully — the fittings tend to be loose and the sash may not close by itself once opened. If the technician sees that, you will be told before the window is opened.

For flats with very high ceilings or an unusually large floor area the price is agreed individually — not so that it automatically goes up, but because a 150 m² flat in a period building is a different job in time terms from a three-room panel flat. Lifts, stairs and access
A good share of the buildings in the historic core have no lift, or one too small for a carpet cleaning machine. That does not matter for an ordinary clean; for sofa or carpet cleaning it is information we need in advance — the technician then plans on carrying the machine up the stairs. The same goes for entrances with a gate and a double lock: it is worth describing how to get in.
Parking zones
All of Staré Mesto is a paid residential zone and some streets are pedestrianised with restricted access. For an ordinary clean that plays no part — the cleaner comes by public transport. For services that involve equipment we plan the arrival outside peak hours and handle brief stopping on the spot. It costs you nothing extra and you do not have to arrange a parking space.
Short-term rentals and offices
The centre has the highest concentration of short-term rentals in the city. Turnovers between guests are done with a firmly reserved slot and photo documentation of the prepared flat — in a period building, evidence of the condition is more useful than anywhere else. Office cleaning in the centre is charged by area and done outside business hours.
Neighbouring districts
We also clean next door: Nové Mesto Ružinov Petržalka Karlova Ves. A slot is usually free within 24 hours and you book online — confirmation arrives immediately.
One more thing typical of the centre: heating and damp. In old buildings with thick walls, water condenses on the inside of the windows in winter and mould appears in the corners along the external wall. We remove and treat surface mould, but if the cause is structural damp or a window that no longer seals, cleaning only postpones it by a few weeks. We will tell you so directly rather than have you order the same job every month.
The same applies to stone and terrazzo floors, which are common in older buildings. They are porous and react badly to acidic products — an ordinary limescale remover used on such a floor leaves dull patches that cannot be undone. We use neutral products on them, and it is one reason why it pays to say what kind of floors you have when you order.
