Svätý Jur lies below the Little Carpathians north-east of Bratislava and is among the towns that have kept their historic core. Central Bratislava is about a quarter of an hour away by train, which has made it a favourite place for people who work in the city and want to live outside it.
The historic core and the newer development
The town has two distinct parts, and cleaning differs between them. The historic centre has houses with thick masonry walls, wooden windows, original floors and often a cellar running under the whole footprint. In the newer development on the slopes, family houses with modern materials and larger glazed areas prevail.
Older houses mean more work by hand: wooden windows with several sashes, ornamental railings, uneven floors and staircases. We allow for that in the price up front, so that you are not surprised after the work is done.
Travel and keys
We travel to Svätý Jur from Bratislava and plan appointments ahead. If you cannot be at home, we collect the keys before the work and hand them back at an agreed place afterwards; it is an extra at €8.
Prices and scope
An ordinary flat clean starts at €46 and covers the kitchen, bathroom and toilet, the rooms, the hallway, the floors and taking out the rubbish. For a house we calculate the price from the usable area, the number of floors and the number of bathrooms; a survey is free and without obligation.
The inside of appliances, window washing and upholstery cleaning are separate items that you add when ordering. You see the price before confirming and it does not change afterwards.
Damp below the hills
Sitting below the Little Carpathians and close to the Šúr reserve means higher air humidity than out on the open plain. In older houses with thick masonry that tends to show above all in cellars and in rooms along the north wall, where mould appears in corners and behind furniture.
We remove mould in silicone and in grout as long as it is on the surface. If it has grown into the material, cleaning will not bring it back and we will recommend regrouting — and above all removing the cause, which is damp, not insufficient cleaning.
Wooden windows and their care
Original wooden windows are common in the historic part and call for a different method from plastic ones. The frames are cleaned with a only slightly damp cloth and wiped dry at once, so that water does not get into the joints and lift the varnish. Fittings and hinges are gone over separately.
Multi-sash windows take longer to wash than simple plastic ones, so we set the price by the number of sashes rather than the number of window openings.
Vineyards, cellars and seasonal work
The town's winemaking tradition shows in its houses too: cellars, summer kitchens, utility extensions. These spaces are cleaned differently from the living area and carry their own kind of dirt — dust, cobwebs and sometimes a musty smell from the ground.
We agree in advance whether to include them in the scope. We handle seasonal cleaning the same way, after winter and before the harvest, when the spaces are prepared for the season.
Regular cleaning rather than one-off
Most households around Bratislava choose a fortnightly interval. With a fixed appointment the home never reaches the state where a deep clean is needed, and a single visit is both shorter and cheaper than an intervention after months.
With a repeat booking the same cleaner comes each time, familiar with the scope and with what deserves more attention in your particular house. You do not have to explain where things are every time.
